First off, IŠd like to commend a friend of MangyŠs, Carla Rhodes, whose song "I Love Animals" has been added to the playlist for the Doctor Demento show! Bravissimo, Carla . . . we are proud of you, even if we donŠt understand your whole Carrot Top fetish. To go to CarlaŠs site and listen to "I Love Animals" and other songs, here. To send a request of her song to Dr. Demento, here.
Also, thanks to the Nashville Rage for adding us to their links page.
Well, The MangyDog once again belatedly returns, as the horrors of the real world and my moneyless squalor take a break so that I can once again complain endlessly. (By the way, our server fee is due, so if youŠd like to donate a penny or two through PayPal, go ahead and on the icon. Thanks to your donations, weŠre actually THIS close to having it paid up, so if you could push us over the edge, that would be swell. Just on the PayPal icon on the left, and thanks again for keeping us alive).
ALRIGHT, enough shilling, Christ . . . IŠm 196 words into this thing and I have yet to make a point. LetŠs begin.
Well, as The Heinous Bastard can tell you, football season is upon us, a glorious time where girls hop around in tight sweaters and I have to wear loose pants. ItŠs a time when animal flesh is cooked, beer is consumed, and limbs are snapped liked dry twigs every weekend. Thankfully, the football gods bless us nowadays with football from Thursday through Monday, and if you have ESPN Classic, then you can watch an old, guaranteed-to-be-great football game on Wednesday. So, in actuality, TuesdayŠs the only day that football isnŠt happening, and thatŠs when IŠm doing the Skeleton Crew and stand-up at the Cantina (for more info, here), so itŠs all good for me.
What is it about football thatŠs so damn great? Is it the endless amount of grilled beef and chicken and pork? Is it the joy of drinking until youŠre blind? Is it the amazing amount of graphic carnage and brutality that you can witness from the comfort of your very own La-Z-Boy?
Yep!
Some quick sick jokes:
Bob Hope is currently recovering from a case of pneumonia. The 98-year old Hope is expected to be released from the hospital soon. HopeŠs family first knew something was up when . . . he moved.
The tragic death of Aaliyah has left us all shocked and stunned. If youŠre like me, when you first heard the news, you probably shook your head and asked yourself the same question: Who? Was she on the WB or something? Man, I am getting OLD . . .
Also, oddly enough, AaliyahŠs first name was also her last words: "AAAAAAAAALLLLLLLIIIIIIYYYYYYAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!" BOOM!!
I told you they were sick.
This is the MangyDog, over and out.
